Latinx Physicians of California
About Latinx Physicians of California
Serving the Sacramento, California region and beyond, Latinx Physicians of California represents a community-driven response to significant healthcare workforce and equity challenges. Established in 2011, LPOC emerged from recognition that while Latinxs comprise California's largest ethnic group, systemic inequities in income, health status, education, and social determinants continue to affect well-being and opportunity. The organization brings together physicians dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery and improving health outcomes for Latinx communities across the state. With a vision of achieving health equity and optimal well-being for all Californians, LPOC builds bridges between experienced physicians and future medical professionals through mentorship and collaborative support. The organization believes that by strengthening Latinx physicians—helping them succeed in clinical settings, at home, and in community service—they create a network effect that elevates entire communities. LPOC fosters meaningful relationships among members while advocating for policy changes that address root causes of health disparities. As membership grows and healthcare needs evolve, the organization remains committed to ensuring that Latinx physicians have the support, resources, and collective voice needed to lead healthcare innovation and serve their communities effectively. LPOC invites all those committed to health equity to join this mission of building a stronger, more representative medical profession in California.
