2026 NAC Artist Fellow Michael Sarian and his quartet present music inspired by the historic Armenian musical tradition.
Trumpeter, composer, and 2026 NAC Artist Fellow Michael Sarian has been praised for his "unique compositional and instrumental voice" (All About Jazz) and his "endlessly renewable strain of lyric improvisation regardless of context or material" (Downbeat Magazine). Born in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires, Sarian has been based in New York since 2012 and has since performed at iconic venues, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center, Yankee Stadium, The O2 Arena, and the Yankee Blue Note Jazz Club. For this program, Sarian and his quartet present music inspired by the historic Armenian musical tradition.

The National Arts Club
Founded in 1898, the National Arts Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the arts and to educate the American people in the fine arts.
