About Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association
Since 1989, the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association (MNAPABA) has built a vibrant community of legal professionals in Minneapolis, Minnesota who support one another, celebrate accomplishments, and amplify the voices of Asian Pacific American attorneys in the state's legal landscape. What began as the vision of four Asian American lawyers has evolved into a welcoming organization of over 200 members—judges, attorneys, law students, and business professionals—united by shared values and mutual commitment to professional growth.
MNAPABA welcomes individuals of all diverse backgrounds and experiences, functioning as both a professional support network and a powerful advocate for the Asian Pacific American legal community. The organization creates spaces for meaningful conversation about issues affecting Asian Pacific Americans, while simultaneously working to change systems and structures that limit opportunity. Through working committees, networking events, and community initiatives, MNAPABA members collaborate on recruitment and retention of diverse talent, professional advancement, and recognition of Asian Pacific American attorneys.
As part of the broader NAPABA movement, MNAPABA brings Minnesota's voice to national conversations about civil rights, judicial diversity, and equal access to justice. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting personal and professional development, serving as a trusted advocate for the Asian Pacific American community throughout Minnesota, and working toward a legal profession where all attorneys can thrive regardless of background or identity.
