About National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation
Founded in September 1993, the National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation has grown into the premier voice for the Croatian American community, particularly serving the Washington, DC area and the broader diaspora across the United States. This nonprofit organization represents a diverse network of individuals, professional associations, and regional groups united by a shared commitment to preserving Croatian identity and strengthening U.S.-Croatia relations.
What sets the NFCACF apart is its unwavering commitment to community-centered values. The organization demonstrates tenacity through its role as the community's strongest advocate in the nation's capital, reliability through its ongoing partnership with the Congressional Croatian Caucus, and passion through unique initiatives like the 40 Under 40 awards celebrating rising stars. The foundation's heart extends to humanitarian work, including major sponsorships of Croatia's Special Olympics, earthquake relief funds, and partnerships with international organizations on cultural restoration projects.
The NFCACF operates through a comprehensive approach encompassing advocacy, philanthropy, collaboration, cultural preservation, and education. An Executive Committee and up to 27 board members elected by the Annual Assembly of Delegates guide the organization's strategic direction. With over 27 years of experience, the foundation has issued more than 200 press releases, published white papers on critical regional issues, and earned multiple insertions in the Congressional Record. By combining diplomatic engagement with grassroots community programming, the NFCACF maintains its mission to preserve Croatian heritage while fostering understanding and positive relations between the Croatian American community and the broader United States.
