About New England Hellenic Medical and Dental Society
Established in 1973 by pioneering Greek physicians in Boston, the New England Hellenic Medical and Dental Society has spent over five decades building a vibrant community of healthcare professionals united by shared heritage and professional values. Now based in Woburn, Massachusetts, the NEHMDS continues its founding mission to foster medical education, friendship, collaboration, and community awareness among physicians, dentists, and allied health professionals of Hellenic ancestry and interests. The organization's roots run deep in New England's medical community, having supported countless healthcare professionals from Greece pursuing postgraduate training in the United States while also mentoring American-born professionals with Greek heritage. Today, the NEHMDS remains a welcoming community for U.S. citizens and permanent residents who live or train in New England, providing a cultural and professional home where members can connect with peers who share their background. Beyond professional development, the Society enriches members' lives through annual traditions including Vasilopita celebrations, Greek Independence Day participation, dinner-dance awards ceremonies, and research symposiums.
