About Niagara Foundation
Rooted in the Mt. Prospect, IL community, Niagara Foundation represents a grassroots movement toward greater understanding and unity among people of different backgrounds. Established in 2004 by a dedicated group of Turkish-American businessmen and educators, the foundation was created to advance a vision of social cohesion and interfaith harmony. Today, with a presence across nine Midwestern states and 22 active branches, Niagara Foundation has grown into a trusted community institution that brings people together regardless of their cultural or religious identity.
At its heart, Niagara Foundation believes that warmth, hospitality, and genuine dialogue are the foundations for building peaceful communities. The organization creates spaces where conversations flourish naturally—through intimate dinner programs, community forums, and youth initiatives—allowing people to connect authentically and develop lasting relationships. By supporting students in their diversity work, hosting interfaith events, and recognizing community leaders who embody shared values of justice and peace, Niagara Foundation demonstrates its commitment to nurturing the next generation of bridge-builders.
The foundation's work reflects a deep belief that ordinary citizens who share a commitment to diversity, education, and mutual respect are the true architects of social change. Serving the Mt. Prospect area and the broader Midwest, Niagara Foundation provides a welcoming home for anyone interested in exploring their own cultural heritage while building meaningful connections with neighbors of all backgrounds. Through its programs and initiatives, the organization continues to prove that communities thrive when people invest in understanding one another.
