About North Bay Indo-American Association
Since 1990, the North Bay Indo-American Association has been a cornerstone of cultural community building in Santa Rosa, California, founded by dedicated local residents who envisioned sharing India's rich artistic heritage with their neighbors. What began as a grassroots initiative has evolved into a thriving non-profit organization that brings together volunteers and community members united by a shared passion for cultural exchange and mutual understanding. Operating across Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, and Novato, NBIAA recognizes that despite being thousands of miles apart, cultures can share profound common values—a philosophy that drives every event and program the organization creates.
The organization's heart lies in its volunteer leadership, a group of committed community members who believe in the power of arts and culture to build bridges between people. NBIAA's programming—featuring festivals, cuisine, music, dance, and theatrical performances—creates welcoming spaces where the growing Indian community and the broader Santa Rosa region can celebrate, learn from one another, and build lasting connections. By bringing authentic cultural experiences to North Bay audiences, NBIAA demonstrates that cultural appreciation transcends boundaries and enriches entire communities. The association remains dedicated to its founding vision: promoting cultural exchange at large while fostering a sense of belonging and cultural pride for Indian-Americans and celebrating shared humanity with all residents of the North Bay area.
