Since 1977, the Organization of Chinese American Women has been a beacon of leadership and service, with the New Orleans Chapter carrying forward this legacy of excellence in the New Orleans, Louisiana community. Founded on the vision of dedicated women who recognized the importance of advancing Asian Pacific American voices, OCAW New Orleans honors trailblazers like Shaie-mei Temple, one of the region's earliest female nuclear engineers and a passionate cultural preservationist who documented Chinese American history and rediscovered historic sites in the city.
