Out Youth's Texas GSA Network
About Out Youth's Texas GSA Network
Out Youth's Texas Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Network, based in Austin, TX, is dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA2+ and allied youth leaders throughout the state to create meaningful change in their schools and communities. The organization recognizes that student-led GSA clubs are powerful catalysts for transformation—not only providing critical support for LGBTQ students, but fostering inclusive learning environments where all young people thrive and bigotry becomes unacceptable.
Founded on the belief that youth voices matter, the Texas GSA Network connects isolated student leaders across Texas through an inclusive statewide community. The organization brings together GSA clubs through online forums, regional coalitions, and collaborative networks that help young people realize they are not alone in their mission to create safer schools. By providing resources, virtual training, and sustained mentorship, the network ensures that GSA clubs remain vibrant and effective year after year.
Serving students, parents, educators, and allies throughout Texas, the organization addresses a critical need: while research shows that LGBTQ students with GSAs in their schools are significantly more likely to feel safe, many Texas youth still lack access to these vital support systems. Out Youth's Texas GSA Network works tirelessly to change this reality by supporting young people in fostering authentic community, combating discrimination and harassment, and building their capacity to educate their peers about gender identity and sexual orientation. Through volunteer engagement, speaker support, and direct coordination based in Austin, the network stands as a steadfast partner for every GSA working to make Texas schools safer and more affirming for LGBTQIA2+ youth and their allies.
