The Pakistan Canada Association (PCA) Calgary represents a remarkable community story spanning over five decades. Founded in 1967 by young, enterprising Pakistani immigrants who came to Calgary seeking higher education and employment opportunities in the oil and gas industry, PCA has grown into one of the city's most active and vibrant cultural organizations. The association was officially registered in 1975 under the leadership of its first president, Mr. Syed M Hasan, with contributions from many dedicated community members who envisioned a supportive space for Pakistani-Canadians in Calgary, Alberta.
Today, PCA Calgary serves an estimated community of over twenty thousand Pakistani-Canadians and their families throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. The organization has established itself as a trusted institution that celebrates the rich heritage and contributions of Pakistani-Canadians while building bridges of understanding with the broader community. Through its own Cultural Centre and recent acquisition of 10 acres of land in 2017, PCA demonstrates its long-term commitment to community development and future growth.
Guided by the principles of Understanding, Tolerance, Acceptance, and Harmony, PCA Calgary creates meaningful spaces for cultural celebration, educational enrichment, and social connection.
