PFLAG Athens is part of a loving community of families united with LGBTQ+ people and allies who support one another through shared experiences and mutual care. Serving Athens, TN and surrounding areas, this chapter embodies PFLAG's nearly 60-year legacy as the first and largest organization of its kind in America, now spanning nearly 400 chapters with 250,000 members and supporters nationwide. The organization's mission centers on building foundations of acceptance within families and communities, educating hearts and minds, and empowering advocates to speak up for LGBTQ+ rights and dignity. In Athens, Tennessee, PFLAG creates inclusive spaces where parents discover they are not alone, where LGBTQ+ individuals find affirmation and support, and where allies learn how to be effective advocates.
