About PFLAG Beaumont
Founded in 2014, PFLAG Beaumont is rooted in the belief that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. As part of PFLAG, the first and largest organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies, the Beaumont chapter has grown to serve the Southeast Texas community with unwavering commitment to diversity, respect, and affirmation. With nearly 400 chapters and 250,000 members and supporters nationwide, PFLAG represents multiple generations of families across major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas, bringing that national strength to Beaumont and surrounding communities. The organization's mission centers on creating a culture of openness and inclusion where sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression are celebrated and respected. PFLAG Beaumont's dedicated board members—including President Jerry Thacker, Vice President Ashley Johnson, and a team of committed volunteers—serve as vital community resources, offering guidance, connecting individuals with local resources, and fostering safe spaces where everyone feels heard and supported. The chapter serves persons throughout Southeast Texas including Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties, welcoming all who share an open heart and open mind. Through education, support groups, and advocacy initiatives, PFLAG Beaumont embodies the vision of a world where all people are valued and affirmed for who they are, making a tangible difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals and their families in Beaumont, Texas.
