PFLAG El Paso
About PFLAG El Paso
PFLAG El Paso has been serving the El Paso, Texas community con amor since 1995, continuing a legacy that began in 1972 when Jeanne Manford marched alongside her son in New York's first Pride parade. Today, PFLAG El Paso represents the organization's vision of a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. As part of a national network with over 500 affiliates worldwide, PFLAG El Paso embodies the values of support, education, and advocacy that have defined the movement for decades. The organization was founded on the principle of creating safe havens where families, friends, and LGBTQ individuals could find mutual support and understanding. What sets PFLAG El Paso apart is its commitment to meeting people exactly where they are in their journey—whether someone is newly out, a parent beginning their path of acceptance, a concerned family member, or an ally seeking to make a difference. The El Paso chapter maintains strong ties to its community, working with local schools, faith institutions, and civic organizations to advance equality and combat discrimination. PFLAG El Paso's leaders are dedicated volunteers who understand the challenges facing LGBTQ people and their families firsthand. By providing accessible support through multiple channels and formats, PFLAG El Paso continues to transform lives and strengthen families across the region, honoring the legacy of acceptance and love that has defined the organization since its inception.
