PFLAG Manitowoc County
About PFLAG Manitowoc County
Founded in 2008 by three LGBTQIA+ parents in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, PFLAG Manitowoc County emerged from a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families navigating a world where acceptance can be uncertain and safety precarious. With support from neighboring chapters in Door County and Sturgeon Bay, these founding parents established a safe, welcoming community dedicated to support, education, and advocacy. Today, PFLAG Manitowoc County has grown into a trusted resource where parents, grandparents, family members, allies, and LGBTQIA+ individuals come together at monthly meetings to share their journeys and support one another. The chapter's commitment to accountability, transparent communication, and clear boundaries reflects its dedication to serving the Manitowoc community with integrity and compassion. What began as a small group of concerned parents has matured into an influential advocate for inclusion and diversity, partnering with schools, businesses, and municipalities to foster greater understanding of LGBTQIA+ experiences and needs. PFLAG Manitowoc County envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and every person is respected, valued, and affirmed for who they are, including their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. By bringing together loving families and dedicated allies, the organization continues to build a foundation of support while speaking up as advocates for meaningful change throughout Manitowoc, Wisconsin and beyond.
