About PFLAG Omaha
Founded in 1984, PFLAG Omaha has been a cornerstone of support and acceptance in the Omaha, Nebraska area for over four decades. As a chapter of the nation's first and largest organization for LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies, PFLAG Omaha is built on a foundation of loving families united in their commitment to one another. The organization brings together multiple generations of families across Omaha and surrounding areas who share a vision of a world where all people are respected, valued, and affirmed for who they are. PFLAG Omaha's monthly support meetings create welcoming spaces where families can gather, listen to one another's stories, and find strength in community. What sets PFLAG Omaha apart is its dual focus on both internal support and external advocacy—members not only find comfort and understanding within their own families but also become educators and advocates within the broader Omaha community. The organization's mission extends beyond support meetings to include community education and advocacy efforts aimed at creating systemic change. By serving the Omaha, NE community with compassion and conviction, PFLAG Omaha demonstrates that families of all configurations can thrive when united by love and commitment to acceptance.
