PFLAG Princeton represents a compassionate community movement rooted in the belief that families thrive when all members are celebrated and accepted. Born from a single mother's courageous act in 1972—marching alongside her gay son at New York City's first pride parade—PFLAG has grown into a nationwide network of hundreds of thousands of members across nearly 400 chapters, including the dedicated Princeton, NJ chapter founded in 1999. This organization embodies the principle that coming out to loved ones is an act of profound trust and love, deserving reciprocation with equal respect and care. PFLAG Princeton brings together parents, family members, friends, and allies who recognize that supporting LGBTQ+ loved ones strengthens entire families and communities. The chapter's monthly meetings create spaces where experiences are honored, questions are welcomed, and isolation is transformed into connection. Members discover they are not alone—sitting alongside others at various points in their personal journey, from those whose loved ones recently came out to those celebrating years of proud, healthy, and happy lives. By fostering understanding, providing education, and building authentic relationships across differences, PFLAG Princeton advances equality and inclusion.
