About PFLAG Sedona - Verde Valley
At PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley we communicate with one another and share feelings in an informal, friendly, non-judgmental and confidential atmosphere.
Our goal is to create a healthy, tolerant local community that celebrates diversity and respects every person. We dispel negative myths about LGBTQ people and communicate the truth about our loved ones.
Uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy.
We provide SUPPORT in a confidential setting at our monthly meetings. One of our primary objectives is to maintain families in loving relationships. We challenge any concept of traditional family values that excludes our LGBTQ loved ones. We further aim to promote the understanding of LGBTQ people as healthy, normal, responsible, productive, loving and caring human beings.
We EDUCATE our community to promote greater acceptance and respect for LGBTQ persons.
We ADVOCATE in a grassroots fashion for equal rights – not special rights – for our relatives and friends.
