About PFLAG Tupelo
PFLAG Tupelo is part of the nation's first and largest organization dedicated to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals alongside their parents, families, and allies. With a presence in nearly 400 chapters across America and a membership exceeding 250,000 supporters, PFLAG operates in major cities and rural communities alike—including right here in Tupelo, Mississippi. The local chapter embodies PFLAG's core vision: a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed in their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Since establishing roots in Tupelo in 2011, the chapter has built a loving community united in support and advocacy. PFLAG Tupelo's mission centers on creating space where families can come together, share experiences, and educate themselves and others about the LGBTQ+ community. The organization believes in the power of family love combined with community action—bringing together individuals across multiple generations who understand that respect, acceptance, and affirmation transform lives. By hosting monthly gatherings, educational discussions, and community celebrations, PFLAG Tupelo demonstrates that acceptance begins with understanding and grows through connection. The chapter stands as a testament to the belief that when families and communities stand together with LGBTQ+ people, hearts and minds can change, creating a more just and equitable world for everyone in Tupelo.
