About PFLAG Westminster - Carroll County
We are a locally based, non-political, non-profit organization composed entirely of volunteers, working to provide a safe and confidential space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our PFLAG family is made up of all ages, sexual orientations and gender identities. We don’t just celebrate diversity …we are diversity!
The mission of PFLAG Westminster Carroll County is to welcome all people - gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning and their families, friends, and allies. Together, we support each other, educate the broader community, and advocate for equality.
We exist to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and sexual/gender expansive persons, their families and friends through:
SUPPORT – to cope with an adverse society
EDUCATION – to enlighten an ill-informed public
ADVOCACY – to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights
PFLAG provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
