About Philippine Community Center, Inc.
The Philippine Community Center, Inc. was founded in 1989 by Filipino-Americans in the North Texas region who recognized the need for a unified gathering place to celebrate their heritage and serve their community. Established formally in 1990 and granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status by the IRS in 1991, PCCI has grown into a respected charitable organization based in Carrollton, TX that embodies the Filipino values of bayanihan (communal unity), utang na loob (gratitude), and social responsibility. The organization's commitment to service was notably validated in 1991 when PCCI leadership received encouragement from the late Philippine President Corazon Aquino to continue their charitable works. Over more than three decades, PCCI has built strong relationships within the Filipino-American community and beyond, becoming a trusted partner for numerous Filipino-led organizations across North Texas. The center provides not only a physical space for community gatherings but also meaningful opportunities for Filipino-Americans to give back through volunteer work and fundraising initiatives that support both local and international causes. PCCI's success is reflected in the enthusiastic community embrace of events like the Mrs. Philippines of North Texas Charity Fundraising Campaign and the annual Academic Achievement Awards. Today, under the leadership of dedicated board members and executive officers, PCCI continues its legacy of connecting people to purpose, fostering deep bonds within the Filipino-American community in the Carrollton area while maintaining its commitment to serving vulnerable populations both domestically and in the Philippines.
