About Pridelines Miami

Pridelines is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1982 by gay and bisexual youth in Miami, FL, emerging from a desire to create safe spaces during challenging times for the LGBTQ community. What began as peer meetings at Miami-Dade College evolved into a recognized community institution dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering South Florida's LGBTQ youth and community. The organization's mission centers on fostering dialogue, wellness, and social change within safe and diverse spaces where all members feel valued and supported. Over more than 35 years, Pridelines has grown alongside the community it serves, expanding from youth-focused programming to comprehensive services for adults and families seeking lifelong support. In 2015, the organization shortened its name from Pridelines Youth Services to reflect its expanded commitment to supporting all members of South Florida's LGBTQ community throughout their entire lives. Rooted in peer leadership and adult facilitation, Pridelines maintains its grassroots values while providing professional referrals and connections to mental health, healthcare, and community services. Today, Pridelines in Miami, FL stands as a testament to community resilience and collective care, continuing the legacy of those who founded it while building toward a future where LGBTQ individuals and families have access to affirming support at every life stage.
