Rainbow Rose Center emerged from the York, PA community's genuine need for LGBTQIA+ support and resources. Born out of the beloved Equality Fest celebrations that began in 2014, the organization was officially established in May 2019 as a volunteer-powered initiative responding to countless community members seeking local resources and connection. Today, Rainbow Rose Center stands as a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to fostering an environment where all LGBTQIA+ individuals in York and Adams Counties feel safe, welcomed, and valued in their everyday lives. The organization's core values—inclusion, empathy, community, accountability, and courage—guide every interaction and decision. Rainbow Rose Center actively challenges the status quo while standing alongside community members through life's important moments, from supporting individuals through gender identity transitions to celebrating milestones together.
