About Reading the Body Through Chinese Medicine - Seattle Workshop
Learn practical Chinese medicine skills and how to read patterns in the energetic body.
Reading the Spine Through Chinese Medicine
Saturday, November 7 | 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Hildegard, Seattle | $145
Join Erin Masako Wilkins of Herb Folk and Clare of Spiral Guide Herbs for a hands-on day exploring how the body reflects patterns of imbalance and how traditional practices can support wellness.
We’ll introduce foundational Chinese medicine concepts through tongue reading, spine assessment, and pattern recognition, then put what we learn into practice with gua sha, cupping, and moxibustion. We’ll explore ways to ease stress and tension, along with how seasonal foods, herbs, and movement can support the body through cold, damp weather.
Throughout the day, we’ll:
Explore foundational Chinese medicine concepts, including Qi, stagnation, dampness, and winter wellness.
Learn Erin’s full spinal reading approach and a complete back treatment incorporating energy work, gua sha, cupping, and moxibustion.
Practice these techniques with guided, hands-on instruction.
Make moxa with Clare and learn how to use it with Erin.
Learn about seasonal food therapy and herbal preparations.
Practice Qigong with Abby Rappoport.
Morning tea, a warming congee lunch, and take-home materials are included.
Lunch break: 12:00–1:30 p.m. Join us for congee, or feel free to bring your own lunch or explore nearby options.
Space is limited.
Please note: This is now a one-day workshop on Saturday, November 7, rather than the two-day workshop originally scheduled.
