About Rockland County Women's Bar Association
Since 1984, the Rockland County Women's Bar Association has been a cornerstone of professional community and advocacy for women attorneys in New City and throughout Rockland County, New York. What began as a conversation among three women lawyers expanded into a thriving chapter of WBASNY, dedicated to creating meaningful networks and support systems for female legal professionals. RCWBA's commitment to institutional change is evidenced by its groundbreaking research on women in the courts, which led to concrete improvements in local judicial processes and even prompted policy changes at local organizations. The organization believes in the power of women in the legal profession to advance justice and strengthen communities. RCWBA members share a commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and expanding opportunities for women in law. Beyond professional development, the association actively shapes policy and legislation affecting its members and the broader community, taking principled stands on issues including reproductive rights and comprehensive contraception coverage. The Belle Mayer Zeck Award reflects RCWBA's values, recognizing individuals who embody the wisdom and ethical standards the organization upholds. Rooted in New City but connected statewide through WBASNY, RCWBA represents a legacy of women attorneys supporting one another while working to improve the legal system and society at large.
