About Rocky Mountain Equality
Since 1994, Rocky Mountain Equality has been a cornerstone of support and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals and families throughout Colorado, with deep roots in the Boulder, CO community. The organization evolved from Boulder Pride and Out Boulder County, expanding its mission beyond Boulder County to serve the entire state while maintaining its commitment to meeting people where they are. Rocky Mountain Equality is built on core values of equity, collaboration, compassion, and belonging, with a vision of LGBTQ+ people, families, and communities living authentically in an inclusive, equitable, and compassionate world. The organization centers the voices and experiences of underrepresented communities, particularly transgender and queer people of color, ensuring that all feel at home within their spaces. Operating the Equality Center of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder as a dedicated community hub, Rocky Mountain Equality creates opportunities for connection, celebration, and mutual support. The organization's work spans education through its long-standing Speaking Out program, which brings trained LGBTQ+ and allied volunteers into schools and community settings to build empathy and understanding.
