Founded in May 2017, the Sacramento Vietnamese Medical Dental Pharmacy Association (SVMDPA) represents a unified voice for healthcare professionals of Vietnamese heritage serving Elk Grove and Northern California. Born from the experiences of first-generation Vietnamese American immigrants who overcame significant obstacles to achieve professional success, SVMDPA embodies a mission to advocate for, serve, and enrich underserved communities through health awareness, compassionate service, and meaningful mentorship. The organization was created by dedicated parents and professionals who understand the value of hard work, perseverance, and ethical practice—principles they now pass forward to the next generation of Vietnamese American healthcare providers. SVMDPA's vision extends beyond individual professional achievement to becoming a leader in serving underserved populations and empowering emerging Vietnamese American healthcare professionals. The association demonstrates its commitment through scholarship programs, health fairs, community outreach events, and educational initiatives that strengthen both the professional community and the broader population in the Elk Grove region.
