Organization's Core Programs and Services: Samahan was established with the purpose of educating the community on how to perform Filipino folk dances & music, while instilling in the Filipino American students the appreciation for their cultural heritage. Our programs include multi-generation dance and music classes, public and private workshops, a Train-the-Trainer program, and performances for community events. We service the County of San Diego and are often contacted to perform in Southern California and other regional areas of the United States. Through SAMAHAN's annual events such as the Philippine Cultural Arts Festival, the Concert of Philippine Dances & Music and Pamana Junior Concert, our students showcase what they have learned throughout the year. SAMAHAN's performing groups, the SAMAHAN Philippine Dance Company, Rondalla Music & Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble, have been recognized as one of the major ethnic performing groups in San Diego county.
