About Silicon Valley Portuguese Education & Culture Foundation
We, the Silicon Valley Portuguese Education & Culture Foundation, are dedicated to supporting the
- Teaching of the Portuguese language at San Jose State University,
- Scholarships to students taking Portuguese language courses,
- Sponsoring cultural activities to support the language and culture acquisition of students and the community in general.
We believe that our mission will:
- Enhance the cultural understanding of Portuguese speaking nations,
- Act as a catalyst to awareness in a diverse global population,
- As the second most Romance language in the world, career opportunities are greatly enhanced.
The Portuguese Studies Program Advisory Board is a community-based, all volunteer group that financially co-funds the Portuguese Studies Program at San José State University.
Our vision is to to become the broadest and most comprehensive Portuguese and Lusophone Studies Program in California.
