About SoCal Persian American Medical Association
Founded with a commitment to education, cultural preservation, and community enrichment, the SoCal Persian American Medical Association brings together Persian-American healthcare professionals in Torrance, CA and throughout Southern California. Since receiving IRS recognition as a public charity in 2015, our organization has grown into a respected voice in both the medical community and the broader cultural landscape. Led by a volunteer Board of Directors, we are dedicated to fostering a cohesive community where healthcare professionals can socialize, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections in a friendly, unbiased environment. Our mission centers on promoting education, preserving heritage, and strengthening community well-being through programs that benefit both our members and the wider public. We organize educational events, cultural programs, and public outreach initiatives that celebrate Persian heritage while advancing medical knowledge and professional development. The SoCal Persian American Medical Association received Congressional Recognition in 2016 for outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to the medical community. What sets us apart is our holistic approach—we don't simply focus on professional advancement; we create spaces where healthcare professionals can connect with others who share their cultural background and values. Based in Torrance, we remain committed to building bridges between the medical profession and the community we serve, offering continuing education programs and cultural enrichment activities that strengthen understanding and promote lifelong learning for all.
