Founded in 1978 by a group of Irish-American friends in Westfield, MA, Sons of Erin grew from a simple idea into a thriving community organization now serving over 900 members. What began as casual conversations about shared heritage evolved into a formal club dedicated to fostering Irish-American history, culture, and meaningful relationships among people of Irish descent. The organization's journey reflects the dedication and commitment of its members, from the original 69 charter members who established the club's first headquarters to the present-day volunteers who keep the organization's mission alive.
Located at 22 William Street in Westfield, Sons of Erin has expanded significantly over the past four decades through member contributions and volunteer effort. The club's physical growth—including property acquisitions and facility improvements such as an outdoor pavilion, kitchen facilities, and maintenance buildings—mirrors its expanding role in the community. Beyond its social function, the organization actively supports local charities and community groups through service and financial contributions, demonstrating a deep commitment to giving back to the Westfield area.
