About South Bay Chinese Association
Founded in 1993 by nine Chinese women who met at a Torrance Art Center singing class, South Bay Chinese Association has grown into a thriving non-profit organization serving the Rolling Hills, CA community. What began as a peer support group for personal growth has evolved into a vibrant organization with over 600 members dedicated to enriching the community through cultural awareness and mutual support. Officially incorporated in 2005 and renamed in October 2022, the Association remains committed to its founding principles of helping members form meaningful friendships while providing essential support to one another. The organization actively promotes Chinese heritage and history within the broader Rolling Hills community, hosting cultural celebrations and educational events that connect generations. Beyond cultural programming, South Bay Chinese Association serves local senior groups and organizations through community service initiatives. The Association's heart lies in creating an inclusive community enriched with growth, culture, and love, where members can strengthen their connections and support each other's personal and professional development. Whether through social gatherings, holiday celebrations, or professional development activities, the organization continues to honor its legacy of compassion and community building.
