Founded on the determination and dedication of countless women attorneys who envisioned a more equitable legal profession, the South Carolina Women Lawyers' Association serves the Columbia, SC community and beyond with a mission-driven approach to professional advancement. SCWLA was established to transform the landscape for women practicing law in South Carolina, making the profession more accessible and rewarding than ever before. The organization pursues five core goals: encouraging and promoting women's advancement in law, providing opportunities for mentoring and collegial relationships among female attorneys, enhancing the overall professional experiences of women lawyers, increasing women's representation in the judiciary, and creating a dedicated forum to discuss and address issues specific to women in the legal profession. By combining advocacy with direct action and community association, SCWLA empowers women lawyers to achieve their fair share of professional opportunities while building a supportive network of peers who understand their unique experiences and aspirations.
