Since its establishment in 1993, the Southwest Florida Chinese Association has served as a cornerstone of cultural preservation and community connection in Fort Myers, Florida. Founded by visionary community leaders who recognized the need for a cultural organization to serve the growing Chinese population in Southwest Florida, SWFCA has grown into a respected nonprofit dedicated to maintaining traditional Chinese values, promoting charitable endeavors, and fostering healthy community activities. The organization's mission extends beyond cultural celebration to bridge understanding between people of different ethnic backgrounds, creating inclusive spaces where all are welcome regardless of heritage. Operating across Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and Naples, the association has maintained strong support from the Chinese-American community while building meaningful relationships with residents of all nationalities. In November 2022, SWFCA achieved a significant milestone by becoming an official chapter of United Chinese Americas (UCA), a nationwide nonprofit organization focused on civic engagement, political participation, and heritage sharing. This affiliation strengthened the organization's capacity to empower Chinese-American communities while promoting greater understanding between the United States and China. Today, under dedicated volunteer leadership, the Southwest Florida Chinese Association continues its 30-year legacy of serving the Fort Myers community through free membership, engaging cultural events, educational programs, and community partnerships. The organization remains committed to its founding principle of using humanitarian values to benefit the local community and create lasting connections among residents of Southwest Florida.
