Spanish American Civic Association
About Spanish American Civic Association
For decades, the Spanish American Civic Association has stood as a dedicated partner to Lancaster, PA's Latino community and the broader Lancaster County population, guided by a mission to see, value, and develop the unique potential within every individual and family. Born from a commitment to self-help and self-development, SACA has evolved into a comprehensive community development organization that brings hope, healing, and opportunity to those facing systemic barriers. The organization embraces core values of partnership, empowerment, neighborly compassion, and togetherness—believing that diversity should be celebrated and that all community members deserve the opportunity to advance. SACA recognizes that while Lancaster experiences exciting growth through its convention center, vibrant arts scene, and infrastructure development, many residents remain trapped in cycles of chronic poverty and structural underemployment. The organization exists to bridge this gap, providing not temporary solutions but meaningful investments in human potential. Through its Luis Muñoz Marín Senior Center, community meal programs, and culturally responsive services, SACA nurtures human dignity and compassionate support. The organization operates as an ally to policy makers, corporate leaders, and community foundations, advocating for investments that create genuine economic mobility rather than superficial interventions. As a proud affiliate of UNIDOS US, SACA demonstrates that strong, healthy communities are built through sustained commitment to marginalized residents and recognition of the invaluable contributions Latino and immigrant communities make to Lancaster's present and future.
