Stand with Trans
About Stand with Trans
Stand with Trans is a federally approved nonprofit organization based in Farmington, Michigan, dedicated to empowering and supporting transgender youth and their loved ones since 2015. Born from one mother's determination to create resources for her transitioning son, the organization has evolved into a vital lifeline for families navigating gender identity journeys. We believe in a world where gender diverse youth are validated, celebrated, and have equitable access to support—free from discrimination and barriers. Our community-centered approach goes beyond traditional services; we foster meaningful connections through support groups, social events, annual conferences, and volunteer opportunities that create spaces of belonging and understanding. Stand with Trans consciously works to dismantle barriers based on racism, sexism, queer-antagonism, and other discriminatory factors while addressing recent legislation that threatens trans rights and dignity. We acknowledge the disproportionate discrimination and violence faced by transgender people of color, particularly trans women of color, and remain committed to centering their voices and experiences. Parents, teens, young adults, and caregivers across the Farmington region and nationwide have found Stand with Trans to be an essential resource that reduces isolation and instills hope. Our volunteer network, including Ally Parents who provide peer support across the country, demonstrates our belief that community care transforms lives. Whether you're a parent seeking guidance, a young person exploring your identity, or an adult caregiver looking for connection, Stand with Trans welcomes you into a compassionate community committed to your wellbeing and celebration.
