The Swedish Genealogical Society of Colorado welcomes all who wish to connect with their Swedish roots or celebrate Swedish-American culture in the Denver area. Since its establishment in 2007, SGSC has become a vibrant community of descendants of Swedish immigrants who gather monthly to share their diverse experiences tracing family history and exploring their ancestral heritage. The organization's mission centers on preserving and stimulating appreciation for Swedish traditions, including language, music, art, and cultural customs while maintaining connections to current affairs involving Sweden. Members participate in meaningful cultural celebrations throughout the year, from the cherished annual Julbord potluck honoring traditional Swedish Christmas customs to excursions to regional Swedish festivals and heritage events. SGSC meetings, held the first Saturday of each month from September through May, offer both in-person gatherings and Zoom accessibility, making participation flexible for the Denver community and beyond.
