Texas Fuego emerged from a powerful vision conceived by five Latina friends in Austin, TX who sought to create an organization that truly reflected their values and cultural pride. Founded officially on August 24, 2016, after months of careful planning and university approval, Texas Fuego has grown into a meaningful community for students seeking authentic cultural connection and social engagement.
The organization's mission centers on creating a welcoming socio-cultural space that unifies students of Hispanic and Latinx heritage at the University of Texas at Austin. Members are provided with a safe environment to celebrate their cultural identities while building lasting relationships with peers who share similar values and experiences. Texas Fuego is an organization that students feel genuinely proud to be part of, offering belonging and purpose beyond typical campus involvement.
