About 35th Annual Tucson J International Film Festival

Ten days. Nineteen events. Countless stories you won’t want to miss.

From January 8 through January 18, from laugh-out-loud comedies to gripping documentaries and everything in between, this year’s festival celebrates the vibrant mosaic of Jewish history, culture, and identity.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll be inspired by:

A groundbreaking documentary on the journey of early transgender activist, Efrat Tilma (The First Lady)
Laugh-out-loud comedies, direct from Israel (Jinxed, Matchmaking 2)
Fascinating portraits of Jewish life, customs, and family (Flowers Gate, Mazel Tov, The Blonde Boy of the Casbah, This Is My Mother, Bliss)
…plus a stunning collection of short films from around the world from as far away as Uganda.
And the fun doesn’t stop when the credits roll—many films feature special guests and programs, including:

An afternoon celebration of Yiddish culture (Swedishkayt: YidLife Crisis in Stockholm + Welcome to Yiddishland)
Intimate filmmaker conversations (My Knees Were Jumping, Ada: My Mother the Architect, Among Neighbors)
A stylish glimpse into the high-stakes world of fashion (Haute Couture)
Educational deep dives on Jewish experiences in the Maghreb (Flowers Gate, The Blond Boy from the Casbah)
A meaningful small-group program, with a little bit of hope (A Letter to David)
... and don’t miss our unforgettable opening night screening of The Property!
