About 100th Year Anniversary of Negro History Week Reception & Walking Tour

Spring 1848, Negro Bar Mining Camp, Alta California was nearly a mile long mining district along the north shore of today's Lake Natoma. Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. the "Pan African Founding Father of California" owned the surrounding 35,521 acres or 8 Mexican Leagues. Historic Leidesdorff Plaza, once a mini park with a majestic natural fountian, is where we begin our scenic picturisque walking tour. Historic Negro Bar, Alta California is where we will kickoff recognition for the establishment for the 100th Anniersary of Negro History Week as we showcase "hidden pioneers" on our journey to "Reclaim Our Past" showcasing 2026 California Black History Month throughout our Global Pan African Diaspora.
