Based in Newport Beach, CA, Thurgood Marshall Bar Association is a membership organization committed to connecting, supporting, and expanding opportunities for the Black legal community across Orange County. Founded on principles of diversity and equality that reflect the core values of American democracy, TMBA brings together legal professionals and community members who share a commitment to social justice and professional excellence. The association recognizes that the journey toward a more perfect union—one that fully realizes the legal, political, and social benefits of diversity and inclusion—remains ongoing. TMBA honors Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall's legacy by continuing his work to advance civil rights, expand access to justice, and challenge systemic inequalities. The organization creates community through regular events, professional networking, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen relationships among Black attorneys, allies, and supporters. With a dedicated TMBA Foundation, law student ambassador programs, and member-driven leadership, the association actively builds the next generation of justice-focused legal professionals.
