Founded in 2007 by a mother's personal journey to find resources for her transgender child, the Trans Youth Equality Foundation has grown into a vital national advocacy organization serving transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and intersex youth from Orono, Maine. What began as one parent's struggle to locate quality support services has evolved into a comprehensive organization built on the core principle that no family should face this path alone.

The Trans Youth Equality Foundation's mission centers on sharing information about the unique needs of transgender and gender non-conforming youth while partnering with families, educators, and service providers to create inclusive communities.
