About Tri-City Chinese Association

Since its establishment, the Tri-City Chinese Association has grown to become the largest Chinese organization in the Great Lake Bay region of Michigan, serving the Midland area and surrounding communities including Saginaw, Bay City, and Mount Pleasant. Founded on principles of fellowship, service, and harmony, TCCA exists to unite Chinese residents and families while fostering meaningful cultural understanding between Chinese and American communities. The organization's mission reflects a deep commitment to preserving Chinese heritage and creating spaces where members can celebrate their cultural identity together.

At the heart of TCCA's community work is the Midland Chinese School, established in 1977, where volunteer educators—all native Chinese speakers from the local community—nurture language skills and cultural knowledge in students of all ages and backgrounds. Beyond the classroom, TCCA brings the community together through beloved cultural celebrations such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Spring Festival gatherings. These events showcase traditional customs while welcoming both members and neighbors to participate in shared cultural experiences. TCCA's approach emphasizes creating positive, inclusive environments where people of all backgrounds can learn about and appreciate Chinese culture. Through its programs, events, and community initiatives, TCCA demonstrates that cultural organizations serve as vital connectors—building relationships, strengthening community bonds, and enriching the social fabric of Midland, Michigan and the broader tri-city region.
