The Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival showcases Ukraine’s complex and unique contributions to contemporary music through performance and discussion with scholars, musicians, and composers. The festival engages the intersection of new music, contemporary events, and the culture of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival is the only festival in North America dedicated to the promotion of Ukrainian contemporary music. It is an important platform for both rising and established Ukrainian composers, who continue to be overlooked in North American concert programming due to legacies of cultural erasure and appropriation.
