About Ukrainian American Citizens' Association

Since its founding in 1909, the Ukrainian American Citizens' Association has stood as Philadelphia, PA's pioneering organization dedicated to Ukrainian-American citizens and their heritage. This cherished community institution, affectionately known as the Ukie Club on Franklin, welcomes individuals of Ukrainian descent and those eager to learn about and participate in Philadelphia's vibrant Ukrainian community. What sets UACA apart is its deep-rooted commitment to meaningful community service—for 110 years, the organization has provided crucial financial aid to Ukrainian causes, supported the resettlement of Ukrainian refugees arriving in America, and served as a gathering place and headquarters for diverse Ukrainian organizations. Members of UACA are united by their love of Ukrainian heritage and their enthusiasm for sharing traditional customs with one another and the broader community. The organization operates on a membership model, offering both Active and Social membership options to foster inclusive participation. Beyond its social and cultural mission, UACA maintains an active events calendar featuring beloved traditions like the annual Turkey Fry and Pig Roast, while the Ukrainian Pierogie Kitchen offers authentic homemade cuisine. The Members Bar provides a welcoming gathering space for members and their guests, creating an intimate setting for connection and celebration. Operating as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Philadelphia, UACA represents a living bridge between generations, preserving Ukrainian traditions while building a stronger, more connected community rooted in shared values and cultural pride.
