Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston
About Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston
Since its establishment in December 1974 in the home of Oksana and Mike Danylyk, the Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston has served as the heart of Ukrainian American community life in the Houston, Texas area. This vibrant nonprofit organization is rooted in the values of cultural preservation, community service, and international solidarity, working to maintain Ukrainian national identity and heritage while encouraging active participation of Ukrainian Americans in strengthening their community. Over nearly five decades, UACCH members have built meaningful traditions that reflect the spirit of Ukrainian culture—from Christmas caroling and Easter celebrations to organizing scholarship funds and participating in humanitarian relief efforts. The club's commitment extends beyond Houston's borders, as evidenced by their involvement in charitable assistance programs and support for Ukraine during times of crisis, including the Chernobyl tragedy and current medical supply initiatives. What distinguishes the Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston is its collaborative spirit and dedication to building bridges between cultures. Members work alongside other Slavic organizations, partner with local churches and schools, and engage with Houston's broader community through festivals and educational initiatives. Whether through preserving traditional customs, educating the next generation, or supporting those in need, UACCH embodies the values of fellowship and mutual aid that have sustained Ukrainian communities for generations.
