About Ukrainian Canadian Congress Hamilton
Since 1941, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Hamilton Branch has been the voice of the Ukrainian community in Hamilton, ON, and the surrounding region. Originally established as the Ukrainian Canadian Committee Hamilton Branch, this organization has evolved into a vital umbrella organization that unites numerous local Ukrainian institutions and brings together representatives from member organizations, schools, parishes, and community centers. At its core, UCC Hamilton is dedicated to preserving Ukrainian history and culture while working toward a better future for the Ukrainian Canadian community in Greater Hamilton and supporting Ukrainians globally. The organization builds meaningful relationships within the community by organizing regular events, rallies, and awareness campaigns that celebrate heritage and foster connection. UCC Hamilton's volunteer-driven approach, led by an executive board of dedicated community representatives, reflects the organization's commitment to grassroots engagement and inclusive decision-making. Beyond cultural preservation, the organization actively welcomes newcomers and coordinates with local partners to ensure Ukrainian arrivals receive necessary support and integration assistance. UCC Hamilton embodies a legacy of community service and advocacy, creating spaces where Ukrainian Canadians can connect, celebrate their identity, and contribute to both local and international causes.
