About Unico Brookhaven

Founded in June 1970, the Brookhaven Chapter of UNICO National has spent over five decades building meaningful relationships and strengthening the Port Jefferson Station, NY community. We are part of UNICO National, a nationwide service organization exclusively comprised of Americans of Italian heritage and their spouses who are united by shared values of character, reputation, and community commitment. What sets us apart is our dual focus: we actively participate in UNICO National's coordinated programs while simultaneously addressing the unique needs of our local Port Jefferson Station community through grassroots fundraising and volunteer service projects. Our 61 dedicated members, including women in key leadership roles, represent the heart of our organization—individuals who believe in the power of collective action to create positive change. Since our charter in 1970, we have donated tens of thousands of dollars to charities and organizations that matter to our community, building a legacy of generosity and civic responsibility. As a non-political and non-sectarian organization, we welcome members who share our commitment to uplifting the Italian-American community while serving all neighbors in the Port Jefferson Station area. Our strength lies not just in the dollars we donate, but in the personal connections we forge and the community relationships we nurture.
