The Triangle Finnish Association is a social/cultural club made up of Finns, Finnish-Americans, and Friends of Finland living in the Triangle area of North Carolina. TFA members are committed to furthering fellowship among the Finnish-American community and encouraging interest in Finland and Finnish culture in our local communities. We began informally in about 1980, when Annikki Giggins called together some fellow Finns in the Raleigh area for an Independence Day celebration in her home. These December gatherings continued, growing in size year by year. The club became formalized in 1991, when the name Triangle Finnish Association was adopted, board members nominated, and officers elected.
The Triangle Area Chinese American Society (TACAS) is a non-political, non-profit organization. The Society was founded on September 22, 1979 and received its tax-exempt status in May 1983. The organization has grown and matured in the past thirty some years. The mission of TACAS is to foster Chinese-American cultural exchange, promote Chinese language and cultural education, and to serve the community.
The Chinese-American Friendship Association of North Carolina (CAFA) was founded on October 5, 1996. CAFA is a non-political and non-profit organization.
The objectives of CAFA are:
- To foster friendship among Chinese and Chinese Americans;
- To help members succeed in the American society;
- To protect the rights of members;
- To promote SINO-American culture, science and technology exchange.
