About UT Austin Graduate Women in Business

Graduate Women in Business (GWIB) is a student-led organization at the University of Texas Austin that embodies the collaborative spirit of McCombs culture by fostering an inclusive community for all MBA students committed to supporting gender equity. Founded on the principle that every MBA student should thrive in a diverse and dynamic workforce, GWIB has grown to become the largest student organization for full-time MBAs at McCombs, with a membership of over 200 dedicated individuals.

At its heart, GWIB is about building meaningful connections and celebrating the achievements of women in business. The organization creates a vibrant community through regular social events, from fall welcome dinners and holiday celebrations to casual happy hours, providing members opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support one another. These gatherings extend beyond GWIB membership through collaborative events with partner organizations like eQual MBAs and BGBA, bringing visibility to pressing social issues and promoting broader workplace equity.

The organization's commitment to professional and personal development is evident through its comprehensive programming, including career workshops, employer networking events, and the flagship Women in Business Leadership Symposium, which brings together accomplished business leaders, entrepreneurs, and alumni to inspire and mentor the next generation of women executives.

Based in Austin, Texas, GWIB is a founding member of the Forté Foundation, a national network dedicated to increasing the number of women business owners and leaders. The organization welcomes all individuals enrolled in the MBA program and actively seeks partnerships with organizations aligned with its mission of empowering women and promoting gender equity. GWIB represents more than a student organization—it's a supportive community that inspires women MBAs to become empowered, engaged, and empathetic leaders.
