Officially established in 1988 through the union of three distinct women's organizations, WELCA represents a unified voice for women in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The organization's roots run deep in Chicago, IL, where it coordinates ministry for Lutheran women seeking to live out their faith with purpose and conviction.
